Santa Fe Awarded 2025 Hispanic Motor Press Family Vehicle of the Year
Hispanic people account for about 19.1 percent of the US population. That amounts to about 65 million people. While many, if not most, consume the same media as non-Hispanics, there is a robust group of newspapers, magazines, and broadcast channels that cater directly to the U.S. Hispanic market. And like so much other media, they review, test, and evaluate cars and trucks and then award those they like best. Thus, Dick Smith Hyundai is proud to announce that the 2025 Santa Fe has been named Family Vehicle of the Year by the 2025 Hispanic Motor Press.
The award was announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which was an opportunity for many in the Southern California area to view the new Santa Fe up close for the first time at Hyundai’s huge display.
The Hispanic Motor Press Award jury panel comprises an independent group of national Hispanic automotive journalists, content creators, and influencers who assess passenger cars, truck, and SUVs while considering key purchase drivers for Hispanic families including quality, reliability, style, safety, technology, and value. The annual awards include the Hispanic scholarship program for communications, automotive, and technology college students.
In their winner description, they found that Santa Fe stood out among finalists for its innovative design, advanced safety features, and family-friendly appeal.
“The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe offers an unbeatable combination of style, technology, and practicality – the perfect fit for Hispanic families looking for a reliable and safe vehicle,” said Ricardo Rodriguez-Long, Founder and President, Hispanic Motor Press. “Hyundai has consistently demonstrated an understanding of what is important to Hispanic car buyers, and the Santa Fe is a shining example of this commitment.”
The Santa Fe was thoroughly redesigned for the 2024 model year, but its debut came too late to be considered for this award last year. The fifth-generation Santa Fe’s design was a clean break from the previous model and any other model in the Hyundai model line. The unabashedly boxy design is both practical and has a distinct outdoor lifestyle appearance. “Boxy” usually doesn’t equate with bold styling, but the Sante Fe is just that with innovative “H”-themed lighting and clever design details throughout the exterior and interior. Hyundai designed the vehicle starting from the rear to ensure plenty of space. While smaller than the Palisade, the Santa Fe nevertheless sports three rows of seats. Third-row passengers have 30 inches of rear legroom and the ability to recline their seatbacks.
“We are incredibly honored to receive the ‘Family Car of the Year’ award from the Hispanic Motor Press,” said Ricky Lao, director of product planning, Hyundai Motor North America. “This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to providing vehicles that prioritize safety, convenience, and innovation for families. The Santa Fe exemplifies what Hyundai stands for an ideal blend of performance, practicality, and design.”
The Santa Fe is available with both a 277-hp 2.5-liter turbocharged engine and a hybrid powertrain featuring a 1.6-liter engine and one or two electric motors, depending on if it is front- or all-wheel drive.
The Santa Fe checks the boxes for plenty of households of all ancestry, including possibly yours. Come to Dick Smith Hyundai and check out our huge selection of Santa Fe models and you will soon see why it is a winner.
