Meet The All-New 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9 EV!
Hyundai made the long trek from its home turf to stake out a spot near the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show, celebrating the debut of its all-new, three-row EV: the 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9.
“IONIQ 9 embodies Hyundai Motor’s unwavering commitment and confidence in electrification,” said Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company. “Based on Hyundai Motor Group’s acclaimed Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), IONIQ 9 offers outstanding interior space, providing customers with unique value while solidifying our leadership in the global EV market.”
2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9 Highlights:
- Premium cabin with available first- and second-row Relaxation Seats
- 110.3-kilowatt-hour battery offers up to 300+ miles of all-electric range
- “E-GMP” architecture enables 800-volt charging for quick top-offs
- 0-60 in as little as 4.9 seconds
- Up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity
- NACS-certified charging port allows access to thousands of charging stations, including the vast Tesla Supercharger network.
- Over-the-air updates
- 100-watt USB charging ports
The IONIQ 9 brings the same EV chops of the smaller IONIQ 5 crossover to the larger, three-row segment. It comes in two drivetrain layouts (rear-wheel drive; all-wheel drive optional) and two power configurations: Long-Range and Performance. The former will offer more than 300 miles of total range, while the latter will unlock the IONIQ 9’s quickest 0-60 sprint: just 4.9 seconds. Hyundai says the 110.3-kilowatt battery can be recharged from 10 to 80% in just 24 minutes.
Inside, the IONIQ 6 is roomy and well-appointed. It will offer plenty of tech for future-proofing customers. 100-watt USB-C chargers and a wireless charging cradle are available. Its available Relaxation Seats incorporate the company’s new Dynamic Body Care system, which can even pamper the driver and first—and second-row passengers with a touch massage.
With the second-row bench option, the 2026 IONIQ 9 can seat six passengers plus the driver. If you’d like a more social setup for the rear compartment, there’s another second-row option to consider: Hyundai’s Swivel Seats. When parked, the second-row seats can be rotated to face the third row, creating a party space in the rear of the IONIQ 9.
There’s more space versatility up front, too. The IONIQ 9’s “Universal Island 2.0” center console slides out of the way, allowing direct access from the front row to the middle and making it possible for second-row passengers to use the console’s built-in storage and bidirectional armrests. With its rear seats up, the 2026 IONIQ 9 offers just under 22 cubic feet of cargo space; drop the rear seat, and that number expands to nearly 47 cubic feet — plenty for large cargo.
The 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9 should arrive in the Spring. Interested in Hyundai’s other offerings? Come check out the whole lineup at Dick Smith Hyundai of Greenville today!
